Abandoned places in Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris currently presents a frustrating paradox for its dedicated fanbase. While the resort markets itself as a premium European destination, with record-high ticket prices and the massive rebranding of its second park into Disney Adventure World, a significant portion of its original charm is being left to decay.
Fans are increasingly vocal about their disappointment, as beloved historical elements are treated more like eyesores than treasures.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of the abandoned or neglected elements we have observed:

Disneyland Park

Mark Twain Riverboat – FRONTIERLAND

The Mark Twain Riverboat is an iconic sternwheeler boat, designed to evoke the grandeur of 19th-century Mississippi travel. While it was a centerpiece of the park at opening in 1992, its history has been defined by long periods of inactivity. Despite an announcement by former COO Daniel Delcourt regarding a major renovation intended to return it to the Rivers of the Far West, the boat has remained largely abandoned and out of commission for guests for years.

It currently sits backstage, hidden behind Thunder Mesa dry dock area, next to Frontierland Theater; leaving the Molly Brown boat as the unique active vessel for the park.

Legend of the Wild West – Frontierland

Closed since 2023 & even during its rare periods of operation, Legends of the Wild West has become a heartbreaking symbol of neglect. This unique walk-through attraction, which serves as the literal gateway to Frontierland through Fort Comstock, has been left to crumble for far too long. Currently inaccessible and visibly decaying, the experience is marred by broken effects, missing details, and a general atmosphere of abandonment that greets guests as soon as they enter the land.

A full, top-to-bottom refurbishment is no longer just a request; it is a necessity. This attraction is more than just a path to the shops; it represents the soul of the 1992 park. It was designed to provide the historical context and immersive storytelling that set Disneyland Paris apart from its American counterparts. To leave such a vital piece of the park’s DNA in this state is a disservice to the Imagineers who built it and the fans who cherish the original vision of the resort. It is time to restore the Fort to its former glory and let guests once again walk through the history of the West don’t you think?

Pirate Galleon – Adventureland

The Pirate Galleon remains a static scenic element in Adventureland. While visually iconic, it offers no real guest interaction today and has a purely decorative function, which makes its long-term value feel underutilized.

floating bridge Adventureland

The suspended bridge elements in Adventureland are still present but are subject to frequent restrictions or partial closures. This reduces circulation continuity and weakens the exploration flow that the land originally supported.

Disney ADVENTURE WORLD

Flight Force pre-show – AVENGERS CAMPUS

The pre-show zone of Flight Force shows a simplified narrative compared to its intended design. The storytelling is present but reduced, giving a more functional queue experience than an immersive build-up.

Place de Rémy props – WORLDS OF PIXAR

Originally removed to make room for the Chalets Gourmands food stalls, these props were never returned to their rightful places once the chalets were cleared. While they might seem like small details, they were essential to the land’s storytelling, grounding the fantasy of the film in a “real” Parisian environment. It is deeply disappointing (dommage) that these elements haven’t been refurbished or reinstated. Since 2022, the atmospheric street props in the Ratatouille area, specifically Linguini’s iconic red Vespa and Colette’s black motorcycle, have been missing from the Parisian streets.
